Junior Social and Open Team Trials for the 2026/27 Summer Season
Norths Basketball Club would like to invite players of all skill levels to come and trial for a placement in the Basketball ACT 2026/27 Junior Summer Basketball Season.
Trials will be held in 2 groups - Open and Social division teams.
JUNIOR OPEN TEAM TRIALS

Important Information about the 2027 JPL Competition
- JPL has moved to an 8 team only competition.
- The top 6 teams on the Summer Open ladder plus the next 2 best teams after finals will be selected for the 2027 JPL competition.
- Teams outside these 8 will be placed in Division 1 in the 2027 Winter Social competition.
- NO PLAYERS will be granted a transfer between the Open and JPL competitions - players will be required to stay with their Open team if playing in the following JPL competition.
- A player will not be permitted to move to a JPL team if their Open team does not make the top 8.
- Restricted players may be granted a local interchange at the discretion of Basketball ACT.

All Open and Social team trials are being held at the Gold Creek Senior School Gym in Nicholls. Please Note - Entry to the gym is via the Nicholls District Playing Fields carpark off Clarrie Hermes Street in Nicholls. Not via the front of the school. Please do not park at the front of the school and walk through the school as gates will close and you will not be able to walk back through the school.
REGISTRATION FORM:
Every player, both current and new, MUST pre-register to attended trials for the age group based on their year of birth (see above) via the following link: https://forms.gle/KhhwBxV2FUSfvD8z6
All players attending the trials will be marked off from pre-registration lists, so please arrive 15 minutes before the start time.
Players will be assigned to teams based on their year of birth. So, if for example your child is a girl and is born in 2016, she will be trailing for an Under 12 girls’ team.
Don’t forget to bring your ball and a water bottle. Ball sizes differ depending on the age group:
- Size 5 ball - Under 10 and Under 12 players
- Size 6 ball - Under 14 boys and Under 14-19 girls players
- Size 7 ball - Under 16-19 boys players
It is also in each player's interest to turn up to all trial sessions for their age group to ensure that they are allocated to the right team and division.
