Junior Fees

JUNIOR SEASON FEES

Fees for Junior Basketball Season competitions consist of a Club Fee and a Basketball ACT (BACT) Registration Fee. Both of these fees are payable in full at the time of registration for the season.

Club Fees

Club fees for players in the 2024 Junior Winter Season were:

Age Group SocialĀ  Premier*
U10 $310 N/A
U12 $350 $410
U14 $350 $410
U16 $350 $410
U19 $350 $410

* Premier costs are higher due to longer training sessions than other grades. NOTE - Junior players playing in a 2nd game in a higher age group will be charged half of the fees cost for that grade.

The majority of Club Fees goes towards the cost charged by BACT for participation in their competitions. The rest of the Club Fee goes towards training facility hire costs incurred by the Club and a small component goes towards covering administration costs to run Norths.

Norths have kept the Club Fee as low as possible through having players pay their fees before the season starts. This allows Norths to take advantage of an early bird discount for paying the full team competition fee up front to BACT. Our Club Fee is very comparable to other clubs competing in the competition. However, we can only keep fees at a comparable rate if all players pay their fees on time and in full.

Basketball ACT (BACT) Registration Fee

BACT apply a compulsory Individual Player Registration fee of $60 per player per season. This fee is paid at the time of registration and is in addition to the Club fee above.

The BACT Individual Player Registration fee is used to cover Basketball ACT's affiliation with Basketball Australia (BA) in addition to the variety of insurance packages that a player receives. The BA affiliation fee, amongst other things, enables BA to invest in the national registration platform for basketball players in Australia.

Insurance is required in order to provide all Basketball ACT participants with cover should they become injured playing or training. It also provides Public Liability cover for all of our members.

Basketball Australia Game Development Levy

There is also a $5.61 Game Development Levy charged by Basketball Australia. This is charged on a yearly basis and will appear the first time a player registers for a season in each year.

The Game Development Levy is charged by Basketball Australia to support the growth and development of basketball at all levels of the game and to enhance opportunities for the sport. More information can be found at Basketball Australia Game Development Levy

PAYMENT OF FEES

Norths requires all fees to be paid in full before the season starts. You will be required to pay your Club Fee and the BACT Registration in full at the time of registration.

Refer to the Norths Fees Policy for information on our policy for fees.

Norths is required to make payment in advance to Basketball ACT for each team to be able to compete in the competition. Basketball ACT does not provide refunds to Norths for players withdrawing from its teams during a competition. Therefore, refunds of fees to players by Norths is provided only in exceptional circumstances. Please refer to the Norths Refunds Policy for information on our fee refund arrangements.

Note - If persons owe money to Norths from a prior season, they will need to also pay the outstanding amount in full before being allowed to take the court in the forthcoming season.
