Fiona Wright – Appointed Life Member March 2026
Fiona has been an active member of Norths since she began playing with the Club around the age of 10 and continued into seniors at the social level. She has continued to give back to the club over the last 20 years through her capacity as a coach, team manager, and a long time committee member in numerous positions including public officer and junior co-ordinator. She has always contributed even when not holding an official position, assisting at functions such as junior presentations, attending committee meetings and AGMs and being available to assist whenever needed.
Tony Cotton – Appointed Life Member March 2024
Tony has made a significant personal commitment to the Club for more than 20 years in his coaching of the Premier Women’s teams and the overall women's training and pathway programs. He has also been a strong supporter of the Club in many administrative, official and social activities and roles over this time.
Ellen Robinson – Appointed Life Member March 2024
Ellen has been an integral member of the Norths Basketball Club for over 20 years. Over these years Ellen has contributed in many roles within the Club, both as a player and as a coach and manager of various aspects of our junior and senior programs. She has also been a strong supporter of the Club in administrative, official and social activities and roles over this time. She has been part of the Norths committee for many years and most specifically as our Club Head Coach and Uniform Co-ordinator.
Vicky Maplesden – Appointed Life Member March 2024
Vicky has been an integral member of the Norths Basketball Club for over 20 years. She has tirelessly worked for the Club in official and social activities and roles over this time. Vicky has taken on almost every role on the Committee, with the last 15 years as Treasurer. She was the driving force behind restructuring the Clubs finance activities, recovering the Club from debt and evolving into the most financially stable basketball club in Canberra.
David Maplesden – Appointed Life Member March 2024
David has been an integral member of the Norths Basketball Club since 2011. In 2011 he took on the President position in the absence of any other options. Over the following 8 years he was the driving force behind revitalising the Club’s management and policy structure. Since then he has continued to support the Committee in various roles and activities. David has also been integral in revitalising the Club’s web and media activities.
